ESH Submissions

The Virtual Region’s Public Information Professional Outreach ESH Subcommittee always welcomes Submissions of Experience, Strength, & Hope to help carry the Message.

If you have a share that might help carry the message to a Newcomer, Professional (Physician,Surgeons (Weight Loss Surgeons), Nurses/Health care workers, Psychiatry/Therapists, Counsellors, Dieticians, Nutritionists, Dentist, Clergy/Faith base), Friend or Family member, we hope that you might consider sharing your Experience, Strength, & Hope (ESH) to help Carry the Message. We  ask your shares to be 800 words or less. 

Please keep in mind as you share your experience, strength & hope:

• All work must be original work only. You may submit documents, images, sound bites, podcasts, or videos. For writing, we suggest keeping it around 500 – 800 words.
• We ask that you focus upon the experience, strength, and hope you have found in Overeaters Anonymous.
• Please do not reference other Twelve Step programs {Outside support is considered outside issue}.
• Some useful guidelines include: How it was when you entered OA, what helped your recovery, and where you are now.
  • Describe your physical, emotional, and spiritual condition when you entered OA.
  • Relate in detail how the Steps, Principles, Traditions, Tools, and/or Twelve Concepts of OA Service have helped your recovery.
  • Describe your OA experience. Tell the length of your abstinence and, if applicable, the weight loss or weight gain you have maintained.

Any and all material sent to the Virtual Region Public Information Professional Outreach/Unity with Diversity(PIPO/UWD) ESH Subcommittee are assumed to be intended for publication on the Virtual Region’s websites (oavirtualregion.org & oavirtual.org) and subject to editing. All submissions become the property of the Virtual Region #09911 and are, therefore, unconditionally assigned to Carry the Message sections of their websites.

Use the form to send us your experience, strength, and hope for our Virtual Region’s Carry the Message digital channels. We ask that your submission be in keeping with the Twelve Traditions, Concepts of Service, Unity with Diversity Policy, and generally aligns with the Principles of the Overeaters Anonymous program. 

Authorization and Release for Submitted Item

By signing and submitting this form, I warrant that I am the sole owner and original author of the accompanying item and that I have the full right and authorization to submit this item to the Virtual Region PIPO/UWD ESH Subcommittee. I understand and authorize the Virtual Region PIPO/UWD ESH Subcommittee to edit, copy, distribute, publish, reproduce, or copyright this item for any lawful purpose. By submitting this item to the Public Information Professional Outreach/ Unity with Diversity ESH Subcommittee, I agree that it becomes the property of Virtual Region and may be used in any type of distribution media.

I agree that I will make no monetary or other claim against the Virtual Region #09911 for the use of this item. I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein this item appears. I hereby hold harmless and release the Virtual Region from all claims, demands, and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators, or any other persons acting on my behalf or on behalf of my estate have or may have by reason of this authorization.
